"Clouds in the blue sky"
The poem in the picture is a quotation "from volume 14 of Keitoku Dentoroku."
問曰 如何是道 師以手指上下曰 會麼
翺曰 不會 師曰 雲在天水在缾
翺乃欣愜作禮 而述一偈曰 練得身形似鶴形
千株松下兩函經 我來問道無餘説 雲在青天水在缾
Ko asked, "How is the way?"
Master, pointing up and down with his hand, said, "Do you understand?"
"I don’t know," said Ko.
The Master said, "The clouds are in the sky, and the water is in the bottle."
Ko happily narrates a verse and says,
" His trained appearance resembles a crane. Only the sutras are in both boxes under a thousand pines. Even if I come and ask him the way,there is no explanation,The clouds are in the blue sky, and the water is in the bottle."
